Came in for lunch after doing a local fishing charter. We didn't catch a shark, but we got great service and food. Our server Michaela was great and friendly. I hope she makes a lot of money.
The food was good, not amazing. Crab cakes were meaty and decently sized and the chicken tenders received top marks from my child. The brussel sprouts were soft and lacked flavor. What it lacked though our server, Will made it for it. So. Incredibly. Personable. AND attentive! He explained things well and was very welcoming. Would definitely go back and absolutely request him.
Beautiful view waterfront beachfront dining. This is quintessential Florida winter 80s degree during lunch in February. So relaxing. You can see St Pete city far away. For vegetarians, Veggie taco and fried green tomatoes are great options.
We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Sunset Bar and Grill in Ruskin, FL! On January 8th, we brought a large party of 27 friends and family members from all over the country to celebrate my father’s 80th birthday. He lives in Sun City, and Sunset Bar and Grill was the perfect place to celebrate such a special milestone. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly and welcoming hostess who seated our large group quickly and smoothly. The wait staff was incredibly attentive, organized, and responsive throughout the entire visit. Our appetizers came out promptly, drinks were refilled without us ever having to ask, and everything ran seamlessly despite the size of our party. The food was delicious across the board. Highlights included the blackened mahi mahi tacos, the grouper fingers, and several other dishes that everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. Most importantly, the entire team helped make my father’s 80th birthday a truly memorable and joyful celebration. We are so grateful for the excellent service and warm hospitality. We will absolutely be back the next time we travel to South Florida. Thank you, Sunset Bar and Grill, for such a wonderful experience!
This place has a place a good view across Tampa Bay and you can see the city. We were there at night and it was a very nice view. Sat at the bar and the bartenders were very attentive and social. Had mixed drinks and they were good. My sister had the meatloaf and it was fabulous and a very good portion. I had the snapper and the corn on the cob was out of this world. Definitely came back next time in town seeing my sister.
Right on the beach with beach bar and outdoor as well as indoor seating. Food was very good. Grouper fingers and shrimp. Service was ok. Cocktails available as well as some mocktails. I had a virgin pina colada.
I wish I could give this place a better review. The views are genuinely beautiful, but the food itself was inconsistent. The location is the main draw. The sunset is the reason to come, and there’s a small beach nearby that’s nice for a walk after eating. They were also offering holiday cocktail specials. The mojito was excellent and easily a 5/5. The second cocktail, a martini with amaretto, RumChata, and vodka, was very strong, which some may like, but the sweetness and salted rim didn’t quite work for me. As for the food, everything looks exactly as pictured on the menu. The fried green tomatoes had good texture and crispiness, but they were under-seasoned and missing flavor overall. The habanero glazed snapper had a great sauce with solid heat, but the fish itself seemed under-salted. The grilled pineapple was a nice touch. The rice pilaf tasted like it came from a freezer bag and was not impressive. I substituted corn for tater tots, which ended up being the best thing on the table. Crispy, well-seasoned, and very satisfying. Overall, I’d give this place a 3 out of 5. I would return with lower expectations and stick to something simple like a burger and tater tots. If you’re coming mainly for the sunset, drinks, and a casual bite, this is a good spot.
We had the snapper which was served on grilled pineapple. The pineapple gave the meal a good flavor. The fish and chips was a nice big portion, leaving me with leftovers. I did not particularly like the fries. The kids ate burgers and they enjoyed them very much. Key Lime pie was good too. Overall the food is good but the atmosphere is what you would go there for. Nice to sit by the beach, kids can play in the sand as they wait for the meal.
